Standards in Africa vary from properties that can be compared to luxury hotels in the United States or Europe to simple national park type facilities. Jacko Safaris selects hotels and lodges based on their location to the best wildlife viewing sites, friendliness of the staff, traveler's needs, food quality and cleanliness. Very important are the aesthetics, or the feeling that each accommodation captures. Views and compatibility with the natural surroundings are also considered when recommending a property. A game lodge would be a property that is located in a game viewing area. Hotels are located in cities or towns.

Jacko Safaris recognizes and realizes that a growing number of men and women are traveling alone today, by either choice or necessity, and we are now offering a special "Solo Traveler Savings" option on our programs. For a limited time, single supplements are available on special rates of the published per-person. These special rates make it easier for independent travelers to make vacation plans without having to worry about finding a travel companion to keep the costs low.

In all our safaris now, our guests are able to meet with the Maasai/ Samburu in their villages and spend sometime with them. The Maasai villages we visit are unique and authentic. You are received in a traditional fashion. First, the warriors come out. They sing and they jump…then the women follow. They form a semicircle and proceed to dance for us and they include you in the dance. Currently, half a million Maasai people live in southern Kenya and northern Tanzania. Clients buy jewellry and other crafts from the Maasai village. Purchasing these goods directly contributes to the Maasai in an empowering manner, as they are able to build new schools, feed and cloth their family. Together we work to create sustainable tourism that benefits the Maasai people.
