Jacko Africa Safaris assists in many respects, so travelling with us does not only benefit you and us, but also quite a number of certain identified poor communities in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda & Rwanda. Climb Kilimanjaro




Climb KilimanjaroDay 1. Arusha-Mandara Hut //..

Morning transfer from Arusha to Marangu Gate. After registration and clearance, your climb will commence at 1,720 meters to Mandara Hut (2,700 meters) through the rain forest. This will take about 3 hours. Dinner and overnight at Mandara Hut. (9,000ft).


Day 2 :: Horombo Hut //..

After breakfast, you will gradually ascend via Maundi Crater (upper route) to Horombo hut, at 3,720 meters (12,200FT). This climb takes you through open moorland and forest and takes about 4-5 hours. Horombo Hut 12km from Mandara. You will have dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut (Tourist Village).


Day 3 :: Kibo Hut //..

After a good meal and rest, resume your climb. A bit  of the mountain peak can be seen while walking through the alpine forest on the way to Kibo Hut, at 4,703 meters (15400FT). Kibo Hut, where you will have dinner and overnight, you will reach after a five-6 hours walk.


Climb KilimanjaroDay 4 :: Uhuru Peak - Horombo //..

You will be awakened just after midnight to begin your last ascent to Uhuru peak (5,895 meters) (18640FT). This is a 5- hour walk. Climbing the very steep part of the route to GILMANS POINT (most difficult and tiring part). You will then descend back to Kibo hut where waiting porters will join you for your continued descend to Horombo Hut where you will have dinner and overnight.


Day 5 :: Marangu Gate-Arusha //..

After breakfast, a simple descent remains to reach the Marangu Gate where you will be awarded your summit Certificate before transferring back to your hotel in Arusha.

N.B. An extra day can be added to the ascent for acclimatization at Horombo Hut. A day may be added on the descent as well.
