Day 8 :: Samburu - Mount Kenya //..

This morning after breakfast, we depart by road to the famous Mount Kenya Safari Club, arriving in time for lunch. The Mount Kenya Safari Club is nestled in the foothills of snow-capped Mount Kenya. Its sprawling colonial design was influenced by the late actor William Holden, who founded the club in 1959 with two of his friends. His love for Africa led him to make Kenya his second home for over twenty-five years.

The club has over the years attracted legions of internationally renowned members and guests from the world of politics, film and theatre. Sir Winston Churchill and Lord Mountbatten were members, and enjoyed sojourns at the club, as have legends Clark Gable and John Wayne, and more recent celebrities such as Robert Redford, Sean Connery and Catherine Deneuve. You too will receive the star treatment as you settle into your suite or cozy cottage.

Pride of Africa Day 8 on safariPay a visit (on your account) and do not miss the animal orphanage operated by the William Holden Wildlife Foundation. Here wildlife foundlings are raised with great care and many are quite tame. It is an opportunity to get close to some wild creatures that despite a struggle have managed to survive. With the afternoon at leisure, enjoy your exceptional surroundings and the many available activities.

A host of sporting options are available, including tennis on a court which straddles the equator, a nine hole golf course, riding stables, a trout stream, bowling green, manicured gardens for strolling, and a spectacular view of the peak of Mount Kenya from the poolside patio. There are also shops and a fine art gallery that may pique your interest. Dinner and overnight at Mount Kenya Safari Club. Meal Plan {B, L, D}

Part of the Ewaso Nyiro River, these cascading falls tumble to the thick forest below. After check-in and lunch at our lodge, an afternoon game drive is planned where one could see both Rhinos - the White and the Black, Rothschild Giraffe and the elusive leopard here. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. Meal Plan {B, L, D}

Day 10 :: Lake Nakuru - Maasai Mara //..

Pride of Africa Day 10 on safariAfter breakfast, depart by road to the Masai Mara. This is the Africa of your imagination, where panoramas are vast. It is a country of rolling grasslands, dense thickets of scrub and groves of acacia woodland where predators hide. Luxuriant forest grows along the banks of the Mara River, where hippos and crocodiles bask in the sun.

The Mara is considered the finest game sanctuary in Kenya, home to an astonishing number and variety of animals. According to the season, hundreds of thousands of migratory Wildebeest, Gazelle and Zebra move back and forth between the Mara and the plains and woodlands to the south.

Lunch will be served at Sarova Mara Camp after which we proceed on our afternoon game run en-route to Mara Serena Lodge. There is no way to predict what you might see on your game drive this afternoon, so keep your eyes open. The trees in the distance might turn out to be a family of giraffes. That clump of bushes, a pride of lions. And the rock that moves could be a rhino lumbering out of your way. With diligence and some luck, you may encounter a family of cheetahs or a herd of elephants crossing the path in front of you. In addition, large animals are not the only entertainment – a family of warthogs may amuse you, startled into running as fast as their little legs will carry them until they forget why they are rushing, then stop to regroup.  Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge. Meal Plan {B, L, D}

Day 11 :: Explore Maasai Mara//..

Float silently just a few hundred feet above herds of wild animals. Gazelle and Impala watch curiously with their tails flagging – a warning to others that you are approaching. Upon landing, you celebrate your flight with a glass of champagne, after which the retrieve safari cruisers bring you back to your group.

After lunch and some time to relax, enjoy a second game drive this afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge. Meal Plan {B, L, D}
